Champion Hurdle Top Trainers

Champion Hurdle TrainersThe list below represents just a few of the very best trainers who will have horses running in the Champion Hurdle 2010. It is common knowledge that some of these trainers are Cheltenham Festival specialists and you can be sure that each of them will be in the hunt for the winner of this very important race. There is every chance that one of them will finish as Top Festival trainer too and as such would be a great option for a Champion Hurdle Free bet.

  • Paul Nicholls - The champion National Hunt trainer, has been having a great few years and boasts one of the best stables in the UK. Yet to win the Champion Hurdle, Nicholls has saddled three winners of the Cheltenham Gold Cup. His main jockey here will be top Irishman, Ruby Walsh.

  • Alan King - Fast becoming one of the top trainers in the UK. King saddled the winner, Katchit, ridden by Chocolate Thornton, in 2008 and will have some good runners once again in 2010. His horses seem to peak at this time of year.

  • Philip Hobbs - This well respected trainer saddled Rooster Booster the winner here in 2003 and has a very envious Cheltenham record. Renowned for quality horses, whatever he runs in the Champion Hurdle it will be worth having a look in the Champion Hurdle odds

  • Nicky Henderson - Twice Champion trainer, Henderson is renowned for training the brilliant See You Then, to three Champion Hurdle wins in the mid 80s. Trained the winner in 2009 when Punjabi came home and he will be back in 2010 allong with Bonocular, trainer to watch. See Champion Hurdle Legends.

  • David Pipe - The Master of the Pipe stables, David has taken over from his father Martin Pipe in impressive fashion. The same standard is still there and he was responsible for saddling last year's runner up, Osana. He also saddled the 2008 Grand National winner, Comply or Die.

  • Noel Meade - Ireland's Champion national Hunt trainer usually has a few entries in this race, but he has yet to win it. He came closest with Harchibald in 2005 when he was second. He is a canny and very experienced trainer and his runners should be closely watched in this race.
